Annual Soup Cook Off Raises Nearly $400 for Wayne Food Pantry
December 6, 2021 – State Nebraska Bank & Trust employees raised nearly $400 to donate to the Wayne Food Pantry during its 5th annual Soup Cook Off last week. Employees made different kinds of soup for lunch each day and then voted on the best tasting ones after making a donation. Homemade soups included shrimp & corn chowder, Philly cheesesteak, butternut squash and more. Kirby Hall’s creamy chicken stew received the most votes, so she took over the Golden Ladle from the previous winner, Conni Davis.
Employees also brought in canned and packaged food along with toiletries to help stock the pantry’s shelves this holiday season.
