Blue Devil Branch Tellers Take Field Trip to Lincoln

May 2, 2022 – SNB took 18 tellers from its Blue Devil Branch at Wayne Elementary School on a field trip to Lincoln.  The trip included a tour of the State Capitol, a counterfeiting session taught by the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance, and a presentation of certificates for the tellers’ hard work this year.  Fifth grader Sophia Peterson also received this year’s Stellar Teller award, representing the one teller who provided the best customer service, showed up on time to work, always offered to help, promoted the Blue Devil Branch to others, and always encouraged students to save.

The State Nebraska Bank & Trust Blue Devil Branch is an in-school savings program for students at Wayne Elementary School.  With parental permission, students in kindergarten through 6thgrade can open a savings account at school.  This unique savings program is part of a statewide effort led by the Nebraska Council on Economic Education to teach financial literacy to youth.  In three years of operation, nearly 300 students have saved over $19,000 through this in-school savings program.  For more info, visit https://statenebank.com/about/blue-devil-branch/.
